My artwork includes figurative works, portraits, still life, floral art, landscapes, and historical art. I work in oil on canvas as well as charcoal, conte, or graphite pencil on paper. My work is all freehand, original, and one-of-a-kind.
I grew up in North Carolina, where I
currently live with my husband. My parents are from South Carolina and
Georgia so my roots are there.
I hold a B.A. in studio art from Wake Forest University, NC, in
addition to having completed post-baccalaureate and graduate-level
courses.
During 1994-1995 and 1998-2000, I founded and ran an art center in
the historic Commercial Building in downtown Gastonia, NC, where I
also had my studio. I leased out studio space to artists and held big
exhibits for regional artists. This was extremely rewarding, but it took
a lot of time away from my own artwork.
During the early 2000s, I put my art on hold while I was working for
IBM as a technical/Web editor. It's great to be back in the studio!
