My name is Suzette Vida and I am a park ranger in Virginia. I love to paint and draw nature and all of the beauty it has to offer. I also enjoy painting people (we are a part of nature as well, I suppose.) I am self taught and still learning, and try to practice my art whenever possible. There are many times that I feel like I just can't create anything because I've had a long day, or I'm afraid that my children will get into my paints, or that there are other things more important that require my attention such as bills or cleaning or other busy things. It is at these times that I have found that taking at least a few moments to create something no matter how small or simple can give me a sense of calm and purpose that work and bills and all of the other "important" things in my life cannot. I believe that even if I had nothing and had to live in a cave, I would still doodle on the rocky walls every now and then.
