Charlie Gunn, Art Bio
Charlie Gunn, a native of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio has lived in Texas since 1981. A 1991 graduate of New College, St. Edward’s University, he returned to college in 2008 and took his first art class at the age of 70. He denies having any natural talent for art so, says he, “I have to work REALLY hard at it. I think in straight lines and angles more than curves and circles, a result of my many years in the construction field.” Charlie’s art brings him joy and satisfaction in five distinct ways; his art is a way of remembering, of bearing witness to his experiences, making connections, self-expression, and unlocking doors to imaginary worlds. His work has been exhibited in student shows at St. Edward’s University, Austin, Texas, as well as the following Round Rock, Texas, venues: Art Space Gallery, Baca Center, Round Rock Public Library, Jester Williamson County Annex, and Texas State University’s Round Rock campus.
