I have made these sketches on location, with an ink pen and watercolor, in Moleskine classic pocket sketchbook (3.5 x 5.5 inches); every sketch took less than 10 minutes. Look at my set of tools I use for sketching.

I did these in a composition notebook that I got for 2 bucks. They are no bigger than five inches wide. I used just a pen and watercolor.
