  • demo on ball and mask for drawing heads

Hi- I am new to the forum and am looking for the demo on using the ball and mask as a way of drawing heads. I believe that I saw it on a video by artist daily and unfortunately didn't note when or the exact title. It is a very novel and interesting way of developing the head in any direction and...

  • How does it look

I'm new to this. I know it's not perfect yet, but my hopes are for it to become close to it. So if there is any help to make this piece look better and more realistic.

  • What to do about the face?

Hello there. This is the second painting of this style that I've done. The first one wasn't as close-up on the face, there was more torso and a whole arm in frame. In that painting I left the face completely blank and it looked okay, I think. This painting, on the other hand, is really focused...

  • Drawing Faces

Capturing a person’s appearance in a drawing is a three-fold task. On one hand, an artist needs to understand the anatomy of the head and how it is positioned on the neck and in relation to the rest of the body. You must also be able to effectively render the features of the face, knowing how to...

  • "A sombra" ("the shadow"), oil on canvas 20x16, 2008

My first paint. When I took this picture of my son 18 years ago, looking at his shadow while walking on the beach, I decided that one day I would like to learn and make a paint. It happens almost 14 years later.

  • "ConEd Man in Steam" Watercolor and Gouche 36" x 36"

In the early morning hours on a typical winter work day in Manhattan I came across this ConEd worker standing at an open manhole. A cloud of steam eminated from underground creating an airy and somewhat mysterious sense of atmosphere. The Metropolitan Museum is in the background.
