Painted briefly in 1969 got back to painting with acrylics in 1991 - portraits, animals, landscapes, but mainly concentrating on portraits. Although retired from work since 1991, David (husband), Lita, Earl, Isabella, Chico, Jesse, Jimmy Joe, and Zoe (my seven Chihuahuas aka Valerie's Folly), outside activities, visiting kids and grandkids in another Province, get in the way of a disciplined painting routine. Self-taught from books and television the biggest frustration I have in painting is not being able to tell what the true color of colors are - I'm colorblind. Being in a northern climate, with a winter that goes on, seemingly, forever - painting from photographs has been my source of subject matter.
