Paul Armesto

My Bio

Paul Damian Armesto-  French-born American artist born in Boulogne-Billancourt, France in 1973. He was a student of Nicaraguan classical painter Alberto Ycaza. He has devoted himself to religious and mythological themes as well as seascapes and portraits, always seeking to recover the classical values of western art. He employs the traditional glazing technique (brushing a transparent layer of paint over another thoroughly dried layer of paint) and, except for portraits, rarely makes use of models in order to reach a higher level of creativity in his paintings thus avoiding plain photographic effects.
He painted several large murals for the Church of Tres Rios(2002-2004), a colossal painting of 50 meters for the Church of San Diego as well as several other works for this same church including a cupola (2008-2010) and another for the church of Bagaces (2011).
He has had several solo exhibits and has painted other murals and canvases for hotels, restaurants and private individuals.
He knows France, Italy, Spain, Canada and the U.S. as well as CR. He is married and has two daughters.
