Once Lorraine picked
up a watercolor brush she never put it down and is now in her 16th year
as a watercolor artist.
Lorraine's watercolor style, colorfully idealized realism, is often a
surprise to many viewers who think of watercolor as loose and soft.
Not only does she still love watercolor, she loves to teach and
demonstrate, as well.
.
Lorraine has had paintings juried into many national and international
watercolor exhibitions and is an award winner. In August of 2008 her
painting "Victoria Giant Waterlilies" was juried into the National
Watercolor Societies(NWS) 88th Annual Exhibit. Her painting won the
Daniel Smith Artists' Materials award and Lorraine's painting was
selected for the NWS 1 year traveling
show. Lorraine has also had paintings juried into prestigious shows
like: Rocky Mountain National Watermedia, Colorado Watercolor
Societies State Exhibitions, Pikes Peak Watercolor Societies
International Watermedia, Louisiana Watercolor Society 34th Annual,
Watercolor Art Society Houston 27th International, Kansas Watercolor
Society Great 8 Exhibition, Montana Watercolor Society Watermedia, and
more.
.
Lorraine is a Signature Member and past President of the Pikes Peak
Watercolor Society. She is also a Signature member of the Colorado
Watercolor Society and an Associate member of the National Watercolor
Society. She has taught beginning to intermediate watercolor for the
Pikes Peak Community College and summer "plein-air" workshops.
Lorraine's original paintings hang at Arati Artists Gallery in Colorado
Springs where she also sells cards and matted original bin work.
