Kate is a contributing blogger to the Drawing blog. grew up
in Tustin, CA where her first mural jobs were respectively in a library (age
11) and in a furniture store (age 18). She attended the University of CA, Santa
Barbara and the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. She did a
short stint living and working on a commune as an organic permaculture farmer
in Kauai. Afterward she was recruited at an environmental scholarship
conference in DC to work in GreenPeace’s two national warehouses and on one on
of their ships building props, planning action logistics, and doing less
glamorous cleaning duties. Currently she is on target to complete her MFA in
drawing and painting from CA State University, Long Beach in the fall of 2011.
Despite the rigorous schedule of school and a full time job you’ll find her
surfing nearly daily somewhere between Bolsa Chica and Newport Beach.
