I'm the online product development manager for the Artist Daily website. I've been with American Artist since December 2008, shortly after this new site opened. Before I came to American Artist, I worked on another art website community and forum, and also directed and produced a series of instructional videos. Prior to web work, I was a Mellon Intern at the National Gallery of Art in the conservation department working on the modern materials collection. Shortly before the work at the Gallery, I joined the ASTM International, (previously the American Society for Testing and Materials), where I have had the pleasure of getting to know several manufacturers of quality art materials and participate in the development of quality standards to improve the market of available art materials.
My heart has always been in art and I spend the free time that I can painting. Currently, I work in acrylics and I'm creating a series of abstract pieces. But, I'm a materials collector and I've recently purchased some pan pastels, some new oil paints and watercolor pencils.
