I have been in classes where the instructor would sketch on side of sheet or paint on a separate sheet. As soon as she starting painting, I felt like the painting was no longer mine. Since she is a friend, I found it difficult to say anything. Is this a common practice in workshops and classes? When I have taught a few times in the past, I didn't work on the students piece even if they begged. Please let me know how you handle this in your classes. Miss seeing your posts and comments on this site but as fast as artists are posting I might have missed them. LOL Miss the good times when it was you, Old Paint, Kells, Laura, Paul, Richard and a few others. Miss all the great helpful comments too. Oh well nothing stays the same does it? Thanks for your help

But that's me - I think I'm starting the cranky stage of my life!!

I live in san Leando and work in hayward. I do wish I had time to visit your studio. Its just that my job takes all the time I got. I work 60 hrs a week or more. The little time I do have I spend it with the family or paint. I learn alot from this site and especially your work. I am adictted to water colors. What can I say... But I will make time to visit your studio,or I ll be like the painting LOST IN TIME....

Thanks for everything......

The bamboo kind of bothered me because you never see a single stalk of it, but I didn't want to cover up too much of the background, or make it too symetrical. I would like to post one more version of it where I used your advice but tried to make it partly blend in with the background. I hope you like it.
