Born in Manhattan, New York City and raised in the suburbs I always loved 'color'. Give me a pack of crayons and I was happy. My inspiration I credit to my father who drew 2 objects - The George Washington Bridge" and a "Skull". If I was home from school ill, he brought me a new pack of crayons and a new coloring book and I would finish the book by the very same day. This grew into sketching the figures in the Archie comic books. I entered a magazine contest at age 15 for drawing and won a $50,000 art scholarship. When it was discovered I was 15, I was disqualified since you had to be 18 to enter...(who reads the fine print at 15???) LOL Unfortunately, I regret that art school never came about.
Since 1992 I have owned my website www.Hobbyville.com where I display all my artwork. In the graphic design area, I created designs for a California swimsuit company, and have created the Journal cover for the past 6 years for a local synagogue. Recently, my paintings (in acrylic) have been displayed at the Hermitage Museum in Hohokus, NJ and sold. Still trying to find my style... I found a passion in portraiture. I have done a few family portraits and have given them away. I want to do more in oil portraits.
Currently, I still have the day job (paralegal) but working on gettng my work out there and connecting and learning from other artists. And of course, enjoying the ride !
