In my mundane life I teach Human Sexuality at Florissant Valley Community College. I am a member of the staff and cast of the Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire, at which I portray Leonardo da Vinci. The cast has twice voted me the best researched character.
I have a wall tent and awning that serves as my home base at Faire. These spaces are set up as a da Vinci museum and I engage patrons in a lively discussion of my (Leonardo's) art, engineering, and biography. Patrons occasionally mistake me for Michelangelo, which gives me a wonderful opportunity to rage against that vile Buonorotti. In real life I admire Michelangelo's art, but even the cast believes that I don't.
As a staff member I teach cast members renaissance history and current events (currently 1518), faire survival, renaissance customs and manners, and--even though as Leonardo I perform with a theatrical Italian accent--I teach German accent to the German characters.
