Permanence by Elizabeth Zanzinger

Utrecht Competition 2010:

Grand Prize winner

Permanence by Elizabeth Zanzinger
Willow charcoal on paper, 2008, 28 x 25.

Elizabeth Zanzinger is an artist originally from the San Francisco Bay Area who, after exploring contemporary painting at CSU East Bay, went on to study the classical approach at the Aristides Atelier in Seattle, WA. All of her work is done directly from life without the aid of photography. She sees the life of an artist as a journey through continually evolving processes, whether the focus is technical or conceptual. She explores the beauty in that journey through her artistic process and the highly studied material forms with from which she creates her work.
