About Susan Drennan

I have been drawing and painting since I could hold a crayon. I attended New England School of Art and Design for grahic art, some training at Mass. College of Art and Montserrat College of Art. Trained also with various artists North of Boston such as Phil Perkins, Jack Jones, Margaret Laurie, David Curtis, Paul George and more. Worked as a Technical artist for the General Electric located in Lynn, Mass. for 15 years. Prefer fine art above graphics and have worked in pastels, markers, pencils, watercolor and now oil. I used to be a portrait artist using pastels but switched to watercolor painting landscapes. I have also worked for an entertainment company doing carricatures for quick and easy money. I've painted with watercolor mainly (so easy to clean up) but have found great pleasure in oils recently. I like to paint anything that strikes my fancy. My goal is to keep getting better and better, so I just keep painting, and reading American Artist for help. Although I have learned much from other artists, I am learning to trust myself and I am in pursuit of my inner voice expressed in the art I create.
