This is the second session working out composition and placement of the figure – thinking about light and color – just in the "getting acquainted" phase.  I hope this painting will come together but I wanted to post it for feedback in an early stage.

About Chris Hodges

Chris Hodges (born in Hickory, NC, 25 December, 1963) is an American artist.

His work shows both realist and expressionist references. He was self taught and studied art in 1988 at Berry College in Rome, GA. Since 1982, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions.  He has work in both public and private collections.  In 1990, he began his art teaching career and retired in 2011 due to progressively degenerative spinal disorder. Fortunately, he is still able to draw and paint and plans to continue teaching privately as long as possible.  Hodges continued his education in1997 with a Masters degree from Bank St. College of Education and Parsons School of Art and Design in New York, NY. He lives and works in Rome, GA.
