About Armie Flores

I call many of my paintings well-ordered collisions, where shape and drawing become one. My decision making process is wholly unregimented. There is no "always", No formula. There are no rules. Let the picture lead you where it must go. I want to create beautiful works of art -- art that is beautiful because it moves you, art that adds to life, art that can shock, at first, but also give a sense of order, or recognition. I believe that art and life are separate, yet intertwined. You can try to be perfect in art but being perfect in life is impossible. I think everybody has to accept one's own journey. Does life get better? Of course, one hopes one becomes more and more experienced, or profound, or stronger. Perhaps the work isn't better intrinsically, but I hope it reflects a combination of age, the worlds I have seen, my attitudes, fears, pleasures, and relationships. Every facet of one's reality is in one's work: age, height, weight, history, nationality, religion, sex, pains, habits, attraction. And being female is one of many in this long list for me, but has never been a specific issue by itself. What you call "female quality" is a serious fact that I enjoy, and part of a total working picture.

Every day I listen for one new idea that will improve the quality of my life. I am a simple human being with an amazingly complex structure of beliefs. I am learning how to get to the love behind the appearances in each of my personal issues. I am kind and patient with myself as I learn and grow and change. Until one is committed There is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, Always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), There is one elementary truth,The ignorance of which kills countless ideas And splendid plans: That the moment one definitely commits oneself, Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one That would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision Raising in one's favor all manner Of unforeseen incidents and meetings And material assistance, Which no man could have dreamt Would have come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets: "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."

Armie Lou Flores, born and raised in Cebu, Phillipines , November, 20th, 1981. Where she grew up in a poor neighborhood with seven sisters, and a single mother. There, opportunity for advancement was rare. And the thought of being creative, was virtually unthinkable.

A self educated woman, Armie had a natural talent for painting and drawing, specializing in water colors. She was confused and concerned of her future. But she always had that sparkle that led her to Singapore and all over Asia. Eventually, making her way to Los Angeles, Ca. That same sparkle made her a star and her art would start to blossom.

Armie must have been born under a magical light for she illuminates all of her drawings and paintings. While they glitter in the dark.

Many of Armies girlfriends seem to know what they wanted to do with their lives. But Armie, was uncertain yet not afraid to take a chance. She lived her life bold and unafraid and was assertive to whatever positioned that lay in front of her. She loved art. The creative side of life and would paint all day and through the night to make a difference. She dedicated herself to becoming an artist and one day a famous one.

Armie displays her art as a beacon that is unforgettable. When her work is upon you, you will feel extraordinary; almost as one. Because her art captivates every cell in your soul that makes you feel special.
