Two figure studies, December 13

These are two figure drawings of the same pose from a class I am sitting in on. The one on the left has been worked about an hour, on good paper. I used reductive drawing (with eraser). The one on the right, I had about about 20 minutes to work on and it was drawn on newsprint with a purple pastel and charcoal.

About Neal McDannel

Influences: There are a few. I really Like Alice Neel and Alex Katz. Edward Hopper made work that touched me on an emotional level while Wayne Theibaud's landscapes are extremely aesthetically pleasing along with his masterful use of color. I would also like to acknowledge my family who has been a real inspiration and very supportive in the creative process.
