Today's sketch

This is my mother. The picture was taken around 1978 and it was pretty faded. She was on the way to her huge garden aprox. an 1/4 of an acre of the 70 acres we lived on. She was an amazing woman. She would go to farm auctions and buy broken antique furniture and then proceed to bring it home, take it apart and using antique tools she would then proceed to build her self something else. She would even carve her own wooden dowels and using horsehide glue, would put her new creations together. 9×9 on 93lb. multimedia paper using watercolors.

About C. Brown

I'm 58 yr. old. I work full time for a private non-profit organization in Ohio.  I try to draw or paint something every day.  At the moment the majority of the pictures I will be posting here are from my sketch book so there are going to be sometimes unfinished paintings and some with obvious eye sores here and there in the painting. Watercolor can be unforgiving and I'm working on understanding what to expect from it. Once I build up some confidence I would like to take a basic drawing class at the Columbus Community College and also a Saturday figure drawing class at Columbus College of Art and Design. Now that I'm a member of the Artists Daily community I'm looking forward to taking advantage of all the free instructional downloads available to members.
