The Blessing 5"x7" oil #116

This painting is really loose.  I feel like I have tightened up in my last few and wanted to loosen up today.   I struggled with a funky tube of Grumbacher titanium white that was so sticky I couldn't manage it and I dropped this painting face down in my lap as soon as I finished it.  Maybe I was a bit too loose!  I wanted to keep the shapes a bit abstract.  The connection between the hands and the gifts represent  blessings, both spiritual and tactile that we get in life.  In this case, it is not so much about the gift as it is about the giver.
