"Tara" Pastel, 25" x 19"

Website: www.laurinart.com

This portrait was done several years ago on Sennelier Lacarte. I haven't pick-up a pastel in more than five years since I switched permanently to oil. The dust was always an issue with me and I was not willing to wear a mask to avoid inhalation of the dust. But I love the medium and may take it up again one day. I studied with Ellen Eagle at the League. who appears to work on a highly pumiced surface so (unlike my style) there is a wonderful textural quality to her work.
