Takoda in Sunshine

This is my first pastel painting & I had a REALLY hard time with the medium – I had it pretty good & then decided to spray it with fixative that said it was for pastels, but it flattened & darkened it – UGH!  So I went over some it again, but it wouldn't take too much more pastel as it didn't have much tooth left….

I used Pitt Pastels on Mi-Teintes paper – 12×16

This is my daughter's dog Takoda that she got from a rescue called Another Chance Ranch – we thought we were getting an Australian Sheppard mix – but got so much more – he is a fantastic companion.

C & C 's appreciated

About Judy

I have always been interested in drawing/painting & did some in high school.

A few years ago, my daughter sent me an easel for a Christmas gift with a note saying that it was time for me to enjoy myself....  I am!  I still work full-time, but am looking forward to enjoying art more & more.  I paint mostly for friends, family & the sheer joy of it.

I started out with acrylics & colored pencil, but changed to oils in 2011.  I LOVE the oils!   I am still learning to work with them & hope we can all share wonderful experiences together. Painting seems to be one of those activities in which one never stops learning.
