St. Paul' Bay, Malta

A client of mine asked me to do a painting of  this popular sea resort St. Paul's Bay, as to how it must have looked in the 50's before a massive building development completely changed this place to high rise apartments and a hectic tourist place. A few tiny spots remained but after  researching  for old fotos and some imagination I came up with this result. It's on Fabbriano and it's 41ins x 25ins.

About Tony Bugeja

I was born and has grown up in Malta, a very small island in the Mediterranean Sea. I was always into drawing since I was young and continued to study and paint as much as I could. I work in oils, airbrush, computer generated imagery, but my preferred medium is water color. Throughout the years I have done many projects which have given me scope to enjoy doing art, amongst which are twenty four postage stamps for the Malta Post. My inspirations for the landscapes presented here comes from the strong color contrasts and shadows in which my country is so immersed in, enjoying so much sunshine and light the whole year round. My job as a graphic artist has also let me expand my work in digital illustration. Other things I also like doing are portraits and caricatures.
