About Gwendolyn Lanier-Gardner

Gwendolyn Lanier-Gardner is a figurative artist creating sculptures and drawings that push the boundaries of reality through visual illusion and narratives rich with symbolism. Lanier-Gardner's early body of work consisted of surreal figurative ceramic sculptures that explored the obscure yet sublime nature of the human condition. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA in 2009 where she was the recipient of the Allie Pratt Artist Travel Grant. She then travelled abroad to study the sculpture and architecture in Florence Italy. In 2012, Lanier-Gardner received her Post Baccalaureate in Graduate Studies from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. The artist studio is based in Pennsylvania.
