This is a 16 x 20 acrylic that I painted from a photo I took in the Okanagan Valley of interior British Columbia.
I was visiting my friend Linda's bed and breakfast place and goat farm for a few days, and taking a ton of photos as usual.
I took this while lying on my stomach in a field of daisies and other wildflowers that was part of her property, and shot the photo through the wildflowers and up this valley of the Rocky Mountains. The original sold right away at one of my solo shows and I have sold framed canvas giclee images and also used it for my line of notecards. A card like this one can be used for. "wish you were here"…."sorry for your loss"…… "Happy Anniversary/birthday/graduation/wedding"…."Dear John", too bad, so sad. I produce my folding notecards on high quality, heavy, glossy stock outside, inside blank matte for easy, non smear writing, 5 in a cello package with coordinating colour envelopes for $10.00. I've used about 40 of my original paintings so far in printing my cards for sale. They do very well as stocking stuffers, small but sweet hostess gifts etc. I do all my own scanning, graphic designs, printing, and production on upgraded equipment I invested in a few years ago that has easily paid for itself by now. Of course, it helps that I was a magazine editor for many years but I had to teach myself all about new computer programs and scanner settings which was a big challenge for a 'woman of a certain age'. 😉 There's a significant learning curve on more specialized equipment.
