About Clyde D. Lewis

Clyde D . Lewis is a local Texas Western artist from San Antonio .He is a supporter of the Black Cowboy Association Longview, TX , Men of Color Rodeo Forth Worth , TX and Choctaw Indian Heritage out of Oklahoma. Looking to join the New Braunfels, TX  Art League .Clyde was raised by his grandmother and grandfather who was half Choctaw Indian since he was a child. His grandfather was a rancher and farmer and his great uncle was top cowboy on the Walker Ranch for many years.. So naturally Clyde's interest in cowboys budded at a very young age. Throughout his years Clyde participated in team roping, steer wrestling, and bull riding. After high school he went on to the medical field but stayed close to his cowboy roots working a on a 3000 acre ranch ,  and help supporting the San Antonio and Houston stock shows. Clyde was first taught to draw by his cousin, who was a police officer. after taking a interest in drawing he then went on to take classes to enhance his skill, and thus began his career as a black western artist . He has sold his work in TX, KS, MN, SC , NM
