Sargents Carmela Bertagna

We went to the Sargent Exibit in Houston a couple of months ago and when I got home I was so entrigued that I decided to paint one of his works. Wouldn't you know it was the same one as covered on last months issue of American Artist.

It was fun to study and paint. I did take some liberties with color but I'm sure he won't mind.

Painted with W&N water soluble oil.

7/13/10  Members in our Art League have suggested that I should sell some works so I have had a change of heart and will exibit some in our gallery here in Texas.  Guess it's better than storing them in the garrage, might pay for some paint and canvas.
