This ballpoint pen or biro drawing was a study of an Albrecht Durer engraving. History most often credits Durer as the great engraver and woodcutter in history therefore if I refined his work I should be doing pretty good. I’m using a fine and regular ballpoint pen tip in order to make my half tones. The hazy red half tones throughout this image are about fifty layers or levels deep. How many lines per ink constitutes a mark of excellence or perfection?
I hope everyone enjoys this refined red portrait.
