Moreton Bay Fig Tree

This is a painting of tree which is over 150 years old.  It was planted in Swan Hill around the time of the ill-fated Burke & Wills expedition into the centre of Australia looking for a non-existent inland sea.  Painting this tree was powerful experience and I would really appreciate your comments and criticisms.  Thank you so much.

About Michelle Endersby

For me painting is a journey I didn't even know I was going to embark on.  But now I have headed down the pathway which delights, amazes and sometimes frightens me, I must press on.  Mostly it is a very solitary pursuit, but the encouragement, advice and generosity from fellow travellers has been enlightening and heart warming.  Like Santiago in Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" I don't know where this journey is taking me so I am just following the signs that appear and finding my inspiration in the beauty of nature.
