About Paula Ford

Paula Ford was raised in a small town in the Mohawk Valley of Upstate New York, where the landscapes are absolutely breathtaking. Having moved away from the northeast in her 40's, and missing the beautiful landscapes of that area, she turned to art in 2000, first studying under Kay Walton of Texas, and then Paul Friske, PSA, also from Texas. Paula started painting in acrylics and oils and then in January of 2004 discovered and fell in love with soft pastels. Paula has been a Guide in the Pastel Forum of for several years, was the featured artist on in October of 2007, and won the Silver Medal Award in the 2007 Arts for the Parks competition for her painting Nick's Lake. Paula often gives lectures and demonstrations, and because of her love for teaching, is now giving workshops in beginning soft pastels. You can see her work at the Redstreake Gallery and the Artisan Depot, both in Cowan, TN.
