Hand of Destiny

This is digital work that I did several years ago. I remembered the work and decided I would post it here. Then I discovered that the original file was on a desktop that had crashed this last year. I couldn't access it at all. Then I recalled that a poet by the name of Glenn A. Buttkus had used it on his blog as a visual connection for a poem he had written. This is a copy from his blog post. He credited me by name, which I greatly appreciated. Thanks Glenn wherever you are.

About guitar1

My name is Gary Presson. I am 67 yrs old. In some respects you could say I am a beginning Painter. When I retired in 2011 I picked up the brush again after more than 40 yrs. Many yrs ago I painted some, mostly in oils. I even sold a few, but it fell by the wayside when it became necessary to move quite frequently for work. I always told myself that someday when there was more time, I would take it up again. Along the way I picked up various allergies and oil paints became almost unbearable. So when the time came to start again, it was almost like beginning anew. I had always loved the look and feel of watercolors, so that became my first choice. Watercolors were a challenge for me and still are. My wife, Carolotta and I, after retiring, began a new life of traveling across the nation in a motor home, acquired just a few weeks after retirement. Everywhere we go I take hundreds of photographs, primarily for the memories, but also as subjects for paintings. One of the reasons that I joined this site was the opportunity to learn from seasoned painters. Never having had the chance to take formal art lessons, I welcomed the chance to look and learn, and now and then to ask a question or two.
