This is the first of a series of sunsets. Original acrylic 12 x 24. This one was inspired by the sun finally breaking through after a whole day of storms and such a scene always makes me think of God's majesty and creation. He is always there but sometimes we aren't aware of it because of the clouds. Then He reminds us. This occasion reminds me of travelling home by car in bleak cloudy, stormy weather after funerals for both of my parents 6 weeks apart. I was feeling desolate and abandoned and then "God" broke through the clouds and assured me that He is constant. I had to pull off to the side of the road because it was such a spectacular and moving moment, that I was overcome by His perfect timing and message.
Artists are often more open and aware of concepts than most people who are rushing around through their busy lives. I believe it is our mission to translate what we see and feel into images for others to notice and appreciate. The lady who bought this was thinking that she could never look at a sunset the same way again.
The original and 4 more in the series sold almost immediately as finished but I have giclee prints available on archival paper or canvas. email@example.com
