from the bluff

"from the bluff", measures 20.5"tall x7.5" wide. This day, was a beautiful one of wandering. This is from the middle of the day, when the haze was just beginning to burn off. I wanted to capture the subtle colors, so this painting is done with a higher concentration of wax and resin, and a lighter hand with the pigments.

This is an Original painting done entirely in encaustics on a wood panel, it has been mounted on top of a wood cradle, however, it is not visible from the front. The painting will hang away from the wall, but has no "frame-like" border.

About Kari Westphal

I believe that art brings balance and harmony to our lives, much in the same way that a walk in the woods or a stroll on the beach might. It is the creation process that brings me joy.  I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. My work is inspired by a desire to explore the things that give me peace. And thereby, share that peace. My goal is to create objects that are enjoyable to look at, and peaceful when understood.
