Flower Fantasia

I needed an entry for a New Trends show so I experimented for a month to get this white line effect in transparent watercolor. I "drew" rather abstract flower shapes with a very narrow tape measuring 1/32". I saved some white shapes with masking. I then painted each shape separately, glazing deeper tones after each dried. After I removed the tape and the masking, I touched up a few lines with a white gel pen where paint had seeped under the tape.  The trick is to bend the tape slightly when "drawing" but not too sharply; if you need a corner or sharp turn, you must cut the tape and then match ends carefully before you proceed with more tape drawing.  This was fun, though tedious, and it was accepted,
