#6/365 paintings and prayers in 2011, acrylic/oil pastel on canvas 12×14.  I wrote the verse from 2 corinthians 4: 18 on the canvas before I painted. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. and so although it is unseen it is there.  I feel like the bridge in this painting represents the faith in our lives and how that faith bridges the gap between us and God.  we may not be able to feel or hear or touch Him in the ways that we are other things, but i breathe air daily not being able to see it and i have faith in it to keep me alive, because that is what i have been taught or told..that oxygen is in air and when breathed into our lungs it gives life.  well God gives us life in much the same way, we may not see Him in as tangible a way as we do other things, but we can read about who He is through the bible and know that when we do the things he asks of us that life will come from that just like life comes from our breathing.

About Whitney Tomlin

I am a 30 year old, mother of three.  I started painting after Christmas time in December of 2009.  I am a self taught artist.  I love art.  I want to do everything I can to use this ability that God gave me to paint, to be able to give back to people around me.  I especially want to focus on young women.  I would like to offer up free or VERY inexpensive art lessons to young women, and use art as an avenue to teach these girls self-worth.  If you art interested in hearing more about what I am doing you can read more in depth about it on my website www.worthloveart.com.
