"end of the storm", measures roughly 22"x 10". There is nothing quite like sitting on the shore watching the sky as a storm passes through – everything changes so fast!
This is an Original painting done entirely in encaustics on a wood panel, it has been mounted on top of a cradle made from wood. It can be hung on the wall, or balanced on a mantle or shelf.
Encaustic painting is a very old technique that involves color pigments melted into bees wax and resin. These "paints" are then applied in a molten state, and must be heated in order to manipulate. There are many layers. It is great fun! The finished painting will have rich texture and depth. Once complete, it is a durable surface. Just avoid placing it anywhere that is hotter than 165 degrees (good rule of thumb for anything, really 🙂
