Dreaming of Venice..

Claude Monet, the great, famous french impressionist painter was 68 years old when he fell in love with Venice. He stayed 2 months and painted 37 paintings, but he never finished the last painting he started there (Gondola in Venice -1908)

What would it have looked like?….. This was the theme of my latest workshop with Richard Robinson and here it is my interpretation. I loved so much to work at this piece and I am pretty satisfied with the results. I really hope Monet would have liked my HUMBLE  painting and also I really hope you will enjoy it, too.

A beautiful day to you all!

Happy painting!

About Cristina Mihailescu

Welcome to my gallery! https://www.artfinder.com/blog/post/cristina-mihailescu/ I am truly honored to announce that I've been chosen ''Artist of the Month'' by Artist Daily in August 2014 and one of the best 10 artists of the month in August 2015 by curators from Artfinder. I am a self - taught artist and I hope you will enjoy my paintings as much I enjoyed to create them. ''I was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania (one of the most beautiful countries from eastern Europe) and since 2008, I live and work in charming Colorado,USA . 2013 was the year (a wonderful year) when I felt more than ever that I had to do what I love the most, painting. I've bought my first acrylics set and since then I never stopped.. Most of my paintings are bold and colorful and I like to flow the composition with light and mood. I'm constantly overwhelmed by the simple beauty and uniqueness of everyday life and I really want my paintings to create an emotional impact, inviting people into my optimistic, wonderful world, far away from everyday worries.. I enjoy to work with watercolors, oils, pastels but my favorite medium is acrylic, I love its versatility... I have to admit that sometimes it’s hard to be creative, there are so many talented artists out there with their beautiful and inspiring works but then I am reminded that the only way to stand out from the crowds, to be unique, is to tell a story (a painted story) that I only can tell.. Although you can find expressionist, semi-abstract or even pure abstracts artworks in my portfolio my heart really goes to the impressionism style... So proud to be part of this amazing project initiated by the great painter and teacher Richard Robinson. Please click on the link below and take a look to this unique piece of art. http://www.livepaintinglessons.com/MasterPieces/MasterPiece1/ I am inspired by great artists such as Monet, Sargent, Manet,Cezanne, Da Vinci, Sorolla, Renoir, Van Gogh, Nicolae Grigorescu, Tonitza as well by the contemporary artists as Richard Smith, Bill Inman, Richard Robinson, Qiang Huang and the list goes on.. I have been fortunate to have my paintings find their way into private collections around the world and I am truly happy to see how much I accomplished in just a short period of time.. I truly love this wonderful journey, my painting journey, and I kindly invite you to join me in this lovely adventure.
