Coltrane 12×12" oil

This was a fun warm-up.  It is based on jazz music with John Coultrane as my inspiration….but it also reflects my frustration.  Huge wind storm yesterday knocked out all the power and we still don't have any.  Cold climate…..dark stormy day….no lights…heat from the wood stove…..AND WE STILL DON"T HAVE ANY POWER!  Painting is a challenge in those conditions so I didn't make it very far.  Going out to a friends today to try and get something going.  I can't paint outside in 70mph winds and can't paint in my studio without light and heat……but those are only obstacles to overcome…not impossibilities.
