I haven't had a chance to paint for close to a week now, my daughter asked for a redo in her bedroom for her birthday this past Friday. I love to decorate so it wasn't a chore but with family here I just eyed my easel and promised it I'd return soon! So here is my attempt at a small still life of birthday donuts that somehow are still around! I just played with negative shapes and shadows and how they bring the eye around (and hopefully not out!). Really I was just happy to push the paint around again!  I am trying new acrylics, Lukas Cryl Pastos, and I really like how thick they are, I may have found my new paints.  Please let me know your opinion. Acrylic on canvas 5 x 7.

About Christina Evans

I was born in New Jersey, my family moved to California when I was young and now I am living the country life in Spotsylvania, Virginia with my own family.  I paint in an impressionistic style and the subject of my work is always light and the mood associated with it.  I use photographs, sketches and memory to capture the light and shadows and the essence of a particular place.   With a supportive husband and two children who love to paint along with me, I have the wonderful opportunity to pursue what I love to do.  I appreciate all feedback on this site,  I think that is the best way to keep learning and improving.
