About Kit Domino

I live in England near the beautiful Cotswolds, a backdrop that provides a wealth of inspiration, as does my travels abroad. It was by chance two years ago I came to painting and haven't looked back since. I have no formal training in art although a lifelong interest other than attending a weekend course, where I dabbled in watercolour, smudged all my pastels and charcoal and avoided the oils due to allergies, When the tutor suggested acrylics, I was away with the first stroke, having found my medium, my voice.

May 2009 saw my first full size canvas (as opposed to the 8 by 10 inch I normally work on) auctioned for charity, the three-figure sum donated to help sponsor a very special little boy through Footsteps, a school in Oxford, England which helps children with cerebral palsy lead as normal a life as possible. The painting entitled "Snowglow" now hangs proudly in the purchasers' apartment in Spain.

Still only a pleasure artist with a lot to learn, I have been fortunate to sell several pieces. A Brush with Bluebells sold this week to a buyer in Germany. God Bless the World Wide Web. Even more exciting, the same buyer recently purchased Bluebells in Savill Gardens.

If you have the time and the inclination or curiosity, your are most welcome to take a look around my world at www.kit- domino.com .

To every "good" piece I create, I paint at least six dreadful ones but regard each as good practice. Perhaps one day I will be able to give up the day job and take up the brush full time - this a dream that has almost come true.

Last month I was made redundant from my job after 15 years service. My intention is to open an art shop/gallery where I can also host painting groups and workshops. So with a bit of luck I will be painting a lot more in the future.

Intention never came to fruition but have been busy painting and writing with a book launched this week. Perhaps the next one will be written about painting.
