Before the Tears – Pastel Portrait

We all experience a range of emotions, and I aim to portray different aspects of life through my art because I think there's beauty in all of it. After all, aren't our emotions partly what make us human?

About Lisa Garrison

I believe that art has the power to evoke powerful emotions within the artist and the viewer.  This is why I create it.

I like to explore different media, but I prefer watercolor, acrylic, and pastel.  I choose the medium based on my mood and what I feel would be best for the subject.  The subjects of my work come from everyday inspiration.  I never know what will inspire me.

I'm a Colorado native.  After living in Illinois for five years, I moved to Parker, Colorado in 2012.

While I was living in Illinois, I studied under many different artists.  I displayed my artwork at the DuPage Art League in Wheaton, Illinois, and won multiple awards.  My work was also on display at the Aurora Public Library, Eola Road Branch.
