April photo challenge

8 inch by 5 1/2 inch on 140 lb. cp/Fabriano watercolor paper using 99% watercolor and a teeny bit of pencil in a few places. I'm trying to just "do it" and paint things I've not done before. I left the bowl white as I kind of liked it that way and in the actual painting you can see a better contrast then this picture. I'd use a daker brownish/redish matt with this and leave aprox. 1/2 to 1 inch of the sides showing as I think it looks kind of funky with the casual edges.

About C. Brown

I'm 58 yr. old. I work full time for a private non-profit organization in Ohio.  I try to draw or paint something every day.  At the moment the majority of the pictures I will be posting here are from my sketch book so there are going to be sometimes unfinished paintings and some with obvious eye sores here and there in the painting. Watercolor can be unforgiving and I'm working on understanding what to expect from it. Once I build up some confidence I would like to take a basic drawing class at the Columbus Community College and also a Saturday figure drawing class at Columbus College of Art and Design. Now that I'm a member of the Artists Daily community I'm looking forward to taking advantage of all the free instructional downloads available to members.
