Abigail Adams

This portrait of Abigail Adams was inspired by an unattributed 18th-century painting done at the time of her marriage to future US President John Adams. I painted this for the Artist Daily forum All Media Photo Challenge's July Challenge, whose themes this month include Americana. It is done with watercolor pencils and gouache on 140-pound 5" x 4" hot-pressed paper.
