An abandoned thatched cottage in the west of Ireland, with all the furnishings just left to decay. I was struck by the cool light flooding into the darkened boarded-up room, and the beautiful textures of the rusting butter churn. The torn lace curtain ensnared on the churn handle by years of draughts from the window became milk pouring from a jug, now suspended in timeless flow.

This is an egg tempera painting. It was exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy Annual Exhibition 2010.
