A pastel portrait done of a horse belonging to a coworker's daughter. It was my first use of pastels.

Soft pastels on sanded and tinted pastel paper.

Size: 12"x9"

Beautiful rendering of the horse and back ground. The fence rails behind the horse need some color or detail, they seem too stark white. It is hard to believe this is your first pastel, excellent job.

Beautiful picture of the horse.  As far as the fence goes, perhaps you could have made il look "old and weathered" by painting some knots, and some jagged lines.
