Day 18 of 30 portraits in 30 days. I have limited these pieces to 2 hours because I am attempting to learn to make better decisions and not have to go back over what I have already painted. This may not be a good idea but it's what I'm doing at the moment. Because of that I ran out of time with this. Saying that I still believe I am learning from this exercise.  I will probably go back to a smaller canvas though nothing larger than a 8"x10".

I agree that limiting the time can teach you really decision making and brush technique...I am enjoying seeing your portraits

I knew that some of these pieces would not be up to the level that I hoped for. Consequently I wondered if I wanted to show them for others to see. But after some deliberation I decided to go for it and by doing that I think it has made me critique myself more. Not being so "critical"  but more sensitive on what I am doing and why one thing works and another doesn't. I believe sometimes we tend to be so hard on ourselves that we discourage rather than encourage our efforts. I'm not near where I want to be but I am a lot farther than were I was. Thank you for your comments.

Cool, I like your brushwork a lot.
