I was just about to shoot this huge garage door when suddenly, as if from nowhere, this woman came into my line of vision. The addition of the figure was a great way to give the true sense of the proportions of the scene. Wonderful things like this happen all the time. I never really go out in "search" of something to paint particularly when I'm in Manhattan because something is always going to be there waiting for me to paint.
