This painting was finished a week ago. I used salt and spray bottle for the effects in the background and foreground. I am starting to enjoy painting old (classic) vehicles!

You got some great textural effects going on here!  I really like what you're doing, and look forward to more.  Just one question:  when you used the salt, did you wait until it was beginning to dry a bit?  I used salt on something recently and I think the paper was too wet, as the salt simply dissolved without doing anything.

Thank you Margo, Joyce, Daniel, and Kisu.

Kisu - when I use salt I usually wet the area of the paper, then I use a lot of pigment and after I do that I sprinkle salt. There is usually not a lot of water, only damp. Of course some spots have more water than other so I try to sprinkle more salt there so the salt wont dissolve. Then I dry it with blowdryer, it helps to make sure the salt wont dissolve. Hope it helps.

Watercolor effects are excellent especially alongside the rusty body
