Castle, Reflections

11X17 Impressionistic Watercolor and Acrylic on canvas.  A little different for me - haven't done anything like this in a while. It is a composite of several places. I wanted to do some reflections. Thought it would look cool.

Really nice reflections. I like the way the stone path invites you in and carries you back to the castle. Interesting negative space shape for the sky.

Shortly I will be at the door.  Do I enter?  Will I find... well anyone there?  You have peeked my imagination.  Cool it is!

Skylar, this is very beautiful. The transparency of the water is stunning.

Really nice coordination of lights, darks, and reflections to convey the qualities of weather and daylight!

Skylar, this is so mysterious and haunting, and the colors are so clean. I really, really love this one - one of my favorites :)   I must say I think your Old England style paintings are some of my very favorites.  Suuuuper.

Love the shapes

Margo - Thank you. It just seemed right to add something archetectural very close to tie the view to the distant buildings. I varied the levels just for fun.

MPO - I'm glad you like it. The exercise was the water.

Abraham - Thanks so much. I have actually worked on this piece for a while (weeks, on and off) to get that effect.

Sarah - Thank you so much. I seem to like this range of subjectmatter. I don't know whether from my visits there, or maybe from some ancestral "cellular" connection.

OldPaint - Thank you. This has many layers of shape on shape to produce the finished look. I didn't even try to finesse any of it.

This is great Skylar...it kind of has a scottish feel,,,love the water.

Sherry - Thank you so much. It probably has that feel because the Castle is so identified with the Britain Isles.
