Thanks for your suggestions. I added some darks and softened the edge of the shell. Fortunately Yupo paper allows one to just wipe it off! Comments please.
Happy New Year to all, Bruce
I think the shell is still hanging above him like a parachute. You should be able to add some deeper color if you don't water it down too much. Look at the web site of George James and see his darks. I know he uses a heat gun to set them sometimes. I have done just a few yupo paintings and know you can get darker. good luck
Say, I've got some silicone release paper....wonder if that would work?
Anyway, a parachuting Turtle is definately on the endangered list!
But still, it looks right to me because it is usually a hot place when you see these things.
You guys crack me up!
I just saw a book by Janice Tinghum on painting on Yupo. It is $20, can order on line. I don't know anything about it though
Hi I might be late on this piece but for the future adventure with yupo. I barely use water on my brush if I want something darker and press brush lightly. when you press harder on your brushes it removes paint and you get a sheen affect. I rarely us as much water as i see on your piece above. But on the other hand this might be the effect you want. have fun I love yupo.
